Petr Mazoch

Petr Mazoch, a composer and pianist living in Prague, creates minimalist, genre-fluid instrumental ballads spanning ambient, folk and stage music. He first drew attention in 2020 with his debut album Gray Scales and several singles, and in 2025 he released the soundtrack to the documentary film Co s Péťou?. His music has repeatedly featured on the Pacific Notions show on KEXP, and Nils Frahm has included his pieces on the Piano Day Playlist. In addition to his earlier curatorial work (the concert series Piano Potrvá and Piano Day Prague), in 2023 he founded the ambient project Yezerā together with the Iranian musician Arash Ghasemi, and later the improvisational duo Mazoch & Libánský.
