Chalupski

Václav Chalupský, aka Chalupski, is a composer and producer. Alongside his solo work he writes music for contemporary dance performances (such as Uncovered by Tereza Krejčová, The End's Turnabout by Michal Záhora, and the award-winning production display by Tereza Lenerová and Jitka Čechová). He has also worked on the soundtrack for Lukáš Valíšek's short film auto.au.rum and for the film Příběh Tomáše Bubáka, and has composed music for an educational app by the developers SkillAdicts as well as for commercials. His discography includes two albums, Vortex (2019) and Improvisation for Dance (2022), followed in 2024 by the piano EP Man of Gaeta. His piece Elia appears on the Moderna compilation, which, under the banner of Czech Radio Vltava, maps the current shape of contemporary classical music as performed by selected Czech composers. He previously played with Kalle and teepee, and currently performs in the band of the pop duo Emma Smetana and Jordan Haj.
